About Craig
Craig Freshley is the owner and president of Good Group Decisions.
Craig has facilitated many groups of different types, large and small, formal and informal. He has a working knowledge of all aspects of policy development and has helped many groups make good decisions.
Since starting the company in 2003, Craig's clients have included government agencies, non-profits, and corporations. Check out an annotated list of all current and past clients.
Prior to starting the company, Craig worked for the Maine Development Foundation (a private non-profit) and the Maine State Planning Office (a government agency). He was especially known for expertise in economic indicators, sustainable development, and downtown revitalization. He staffed several government councils and commissions, authored numerous policy reports, and started the
Craig has Bachelors Degrees in political science and philosophy from the

Craig has helped many groups get started and was a founder of Sustainable Maine in 1994, The Maine Downtown Center in 1999, and GrowSmart Maine in 2003.
As a volunteer Craig recently served as President of the Board of Merriconeag Waldorf School in Freeport. He also does volunteer training sessions for the Maine Association of Nonprofits and volunteer facilitation for Common Good Ventures.
Craig is a Quaker and lives in a cohousing community where decisions are made by consensus. He is married with two daughters. In addition to his family, other diversions from work include keeping up an old house and barn, a dog, a goat, 3 sheep, a small flock of chickens and Neil Young.
